SIGNING, LIGHTING & GUARDING

This one day City and Guilds accredited course is designed for all operatives
employed by local authorities, utilities and their contractors to sign, light and guard
any road works in the highway.

Course Aims: Who Should Attend?

To provide Operatives and Supervisors with the skills This Signing, Lighting and Guarding training course
and knowledge to perform their respective duties is designed for Operatives and Supervisors who
when signing, lighting and guarding to the standards have to erect or monitor the erection of signing,

Course Content:

• Understand the basic principles of the NRSW Act
1991 and standards prescribed by City & Guilds

• Identify and use correct traffic control measures
• Erect and dismantle signing, guarding and lighting
safely and in accordance with the supporting Code
of Practice
• Correctly and confidently operate the equipment
used

Prerequisites:

• Candidates are required to provide their own PPE.
• Lunch is provided.
