        RESPIRATORY PROTECTION
        THE TECHNICAL BIT

        RESPIRATORY MASKS STANDARDS

EN149:2001+A1:2009 – Respiratory protective devices. Filtering half masks to protect against particles. Requirements, testing,
        marking.
FFP (Filtering Facepieces) - Filtering facepieces protect from respirable dust, smoke, and aqueous fog (aerosols), however they offer
no protection from vapour and gas. Below you can see the different classes of FFP and what each of them mean.

FFP1 Dust Masks - These masks protect against low levels of dust, as well as solid and liquid aerosols. They filter at least 80% of
airborne particles. FFP1 Dust Masks are suitable for hand sanding, drilling, and cutting.

FFP2 Dust Masks - These masks protect against moderate levels of dust, as well as solid and liquid aerosols. FFP2 Dust Masks have
a higher level of protection than FFP1. They filter at least 94% of airborne particles. FFP2 masks are ideal for plastering and sanding.

FFP3 Dust Masks - FFP3 Dust Masks protect against higher levels of dust. They also protect against solid and liquid aerosols.
UC-EP03 - PU FOAM They filter at least 99% of airborne particles. FFP3 masks are suitable for handling hazardous powders, such as those found in the
        pharmaceutical industry.

        EN 140:1998 - Half or quarter masks. 1, 2 or 3 - Inward leakage class (10%, 2% or 0.2%) + one or more of:
                                                             A, B, E, K + 1, 2 or 3 (capacity: low, med, high)
EN 12941:1998 - Powered filtering device with helmet / hood.
+ S or SL - Use against solids only or solids and liquids
        TH - Turbo hood | P - Particles

        R - An R symbolises reusable
                                                             E - acid gases
NR - NR symbolises non-reusable (Single shift)
                                                             K - Ammonia and organic derivatives + 1, 2, or 3 (capacity: low, med,
